London Heathrow Airport

Our client is a Globally recognised restaurant, due to expansion they are searching for a head chef to lead their Heathrow Airport site.

The overall purpose of the Head Chef will be to manage the fresh food preparation and cooking of high quality fresh food according to the executive restaurant requirements in order to meet the needs of the their Global customers.

Salary £34,000 + £4,700 Bonus.

Hours 40 – 50 per week 5 days per week across Monday – Sunday including late and early shifts.

Other duties will include:

• Manage all aspects of the kitchen areas.

• Manage breakfast, lunch and dinner service.

• Manage, mentor and develop the kitchen team to ensure that they remain motivated.

• Mange a team of 12 staff.

• Prepare fresh food to required standards checking for taste, presentation and quality.

• Ensure food is served promptly and quickly and ensuring delays in service are kept to a minimum.

• Ensure all food is correctly garnished as per the companies service standards.

• Manage all aspects of portion control in order to avoid food wastage and keep down costs.

• Complete and maintain accurate records relating to reproduction and wastage sheets and cleaning records.

• Ensure all food preparation is carried out in accordance with food hygiene procedures.

• Ensure the kitchen and service areas are kept clean and tidy

• Carry out accurate weekly stock takes.

• Ensure the kitchen meets all legal requirements in relation to fire, health and safety and hygiene

• Managing staff welfare and discipline and grievance.

The ideal Head Chef for this role will:

• Be a natural leader with experience as a Head Chef, Kitchen Manager, or Executive Chef from either a fine dining or 5 star hospitality environment.

• They must flexible to work Monday – Sunday , including Late and early shifts.

Other essential kills and experience required for this role are:

• Minimum 1 year experience working as a Head chef within a fresh food kitchen.

• Experience of managing a team.

• Excellent people and organisational skills.

• Managing staff welfare and discipline and grievance.

• Passion about food and customer service.

• A full understanding of health and hygiene as well as health and safety policies and procedures.
