We have an immediate opportunity for am entry level Cargo Agent to join a leading global provider of cargo handling services at London Gatwick Airport (RH6).
No cargo experience is required as full training will be provided.
Due to the location and shift you must have your own transport for this role.
Cargo Agents are responsible for accurately processing of export freight ensuring all procedures are followed per the company standards.
This role operates on a 4 on 4 off fixed shift pattern which consists of 2 days (0600 -1800) followed by 2 nights (1800 – 0600).
The Financial remuneration for this Cargo Agent position:
• Basic salary of £28,828.54 per annum.
• Shift allowance between £2620.72 per annum.

Responsibilities of the Cargo Agent:
• Process of imports & exports operations for multiple airline customers.
• Using customer operating systems to complete export & import flights.
• Booking in/ serving drivers from freight forwarders/airlines/trucking companies at reception.
• Dealing with customer queries regarding their shipments and reporting any internal or customer issues to the office supervisor.
• Ensuring processing of flights is kept within the timings of customer airline service level agreements.
The ideal Cargo Agent will have the following skills and experience:
• A minimum of 2+ years’ airport experience related to a customer facing role.
• The ability to work shifts including nights and weekends.
• A high level of accuracy in data processing.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
We are particularly interested in applicants who have experience as a Check in Agent, Customer Service Agent or Security Agent at Gatwick airport.
